monet's water lillies

this can never do justice to monet's breathtaking, large-as-life canvases ("les nympheas") that hang at the musee de'orangerie in paris. (when i saw then during my visit to paris in may, they literally moved me to tears.) so, how thrilled i was to read that the musuem of modern art in new york just opened a smaller, gem of a show of waterlillies, including this large one. well, when i heard that, i raced into nyc to see them with my sweet friend clare. if you're ever in manhattan or paris (even better) go see these.
